A remastered guided tour of the great French poet’s home
It is an artist’s house, the elegant and a little whimsical home of one of the greatest French poets and politicians. All over the château de Saint-Point, Alphonse de Lamartine and his wife Marianne have left their imprint, creating architectural collages (at the beginning of the 19th Century, they added Neo-Gothic towers and galleries to the medieval building) and romanticallydecorated interiors, punctuated by Marianne’s paintings. A complete work of art, therefore, and an endless source of inspiration to the poet, whose finest works were written from his garden bench or desk. And where Victor Hugo, Franz Litz or even George Sand stayed… And even the Roset collection, two hundred years later !
